Featured Company: Green 3 organic American made apparel!

I found these adorable kids blankets on Uncommon goods website and had to learn more about this company! Green 3 uses organic yarns, cotton and wool and only low impact reactive dyes.

What are low impact non reactive dyes? I did a little research. It turns out that some people have chemical sensitivities to typical dyes used in clothing and because clothing comes into contact with the skin, the skin absorbs the toxins from dioxin and heavy metals in the dyes causing different side affects such as rashes, headaches, dizziness, and even seizures. The absorption rate of low-impact dyes used  is lower than typically used dyes which makes them safer, creates less waste, water runoff and therefore a lower impact on the environment. They contain no heavy metals or other known toxic substances, and they meet all European Union criteria for being an eco-friendly pigment.

Green 3 states that it "promote jobs and community support while causing the least amount of damage to our environment".Definitely a statement I can get behind!

Their woman's wear seems to mainly consists of more sportswear/yoga apparel that have peace symbols on them, not that I don't believe in peace, it's just not necessarily my thing, but they do have some really cute guy's tee's as well as some nice kids items. Check out these purses, they are made from reclaimed suits!

The best part is that they have merchandise in stores all over the US.  Find their list of retailers here. If you can't find any thing close, you can order directly from Green 3 here or go to Uncommon Goods site here.
